What is Recycled Filament?

Recycled Filament is produced from our industrial scrap material, which helps keep waste out of landfills while providing a very usable material, especially for prototyping. We don't make a profit on this product; our goal is to contribute to environmental protection.

Typically, waste raw materials and semi-finished products are recycled by injection moulding factories and turned into plastic tools and toys. SUNLU, however, re-collects, reshapes, and reprocesses these materials into new Recycled Filament. We offer it at a very affordable price for 3D printing enthusiasts who want to help protect the environment.

 

What is the Difference Between Recycled Filament and Normal Filament?

The main difference is that the colour of Recycled Filament is uncontrollable. After secondary processing and production, it meets the same print quality standards as normal 3D print filament. This means you purchase Recycled Filament in the same material, but the colour may be different each time. It is ideal for prototyping and small prints due to its lower price. Because of the limited quantity and lower price, we do not offer a warranty on recycled products.

This filament is made from the same material as our regular PLA product lines. We use PLA scraps, out-of-spec material, transition material, and cut-off waste, converting them into pellets to produce this filament. It works great, prints well, and follows the same quality guidelines with a minimum target of ±0.02mm.
