INDX 8-Tool Conversion Kit for CORE One/+
Eight independent toolheads for your CORE One or CORE One+. Induction-heated nozzles, tool swaps in around 12 seconds and about 13 milligrams of purge per change. Full eight-material capability from day one.
One Smart Head, Passive Tools
The INDX turns a CORE One or CORE One+ into a true toolchanger. A single Smart Head carries the only electronics in the system, a contactless induction coil that heats each nozzle from cold to printing temperature in seconds. The tools themselves are passive: no heater cartridge, no thermistor, no wiring, just a nozzle, a filament path and a Maxwell coupling. Each material keeps its own dedicated path, so there is no shared melt zone, no oozing from idle nozzles and no cross-contamination between colours or materials.

The 8-Tool Kit
The 8-Tool kit is the complete setup. You get the full INDX Smart Head, docking station, purge collector and top cover, plus eight passive tools and eight spoolholders, so one print can carry eight colours, eight materials or a mix of nozzle sizes without touching a spool mid-job. It is the best per-tool value and the way to go if you already know you want the most material flexibility on the machine.

Key Specifications
Core Features
- Eight passive tools with 0.4 mm high-flow nozzles, the full INDX capacity from day one
- Induction-heated nozzles reach printing temperature in seconds and cool quickly when parked
- Around 13 mg of purge per swap, roughly 5× less waste than the most efficient purge systems and 30× less than filament rewinding systems
- Dedicated filament path per tool, so rigid and flexible materials, soluble supports and different nozzle sizes can share one print
- Dynamic Dual Drive extruder adjusts grip automatically for soft, rigid and fibre-filled filaments
- Advanced silicone nozzle wiper cleans each nozzle before it rejoins the print
- Automatic tool offset calibration in about 15 seconds per tool, on a dual-target sensor mounted outside the print area
- LoadCell first-layer sensing carried over from the CORE One, no manual Z tuning
- Works with any 1.75 mm filament, and all 8 spoolholders fit the Prusa USS Drybox
- Your existing print sheets, filament profiles, PrusaSlicer setup and Prusa Connect all carry over unchanged
Why It Wastes So Little
Most multi-material systems purge into a block on the corner of the sheet. The INDX purges roughly a grain of rice worth of plastic into a collector behind the print area instead.
Every tool has its own nozzle and filament path, so there is nothing to flush out when the head changes tools.
Parked tools cool rapidly because only the active nozzle sits in the induction field, so idle tools do not ooze or string.
A true tool change, measured from the last extrusion of one material to the first extrusion of the next, takes around 12 seconds for PLA.
Calibration in 15 Seconds per Tool
The INDX includes a new toolhead offset calibration system mounted permanently outside the print area, so nothing needs to be placed on the bed. One target reads the nozzle position while a second reads background noise and cancels it out, which gives highly precise offsets in any environment. Once the kit is installed the printer runs a quick calibration and can pick up and park every tool with repeatable precision.

Enclosed Chamber, Doors Closed
The kit replaces the top cover with a new one that includes automatic ventilation, so the CORE One keeps its enclosed chamber and its ventilation system. PLA and PETG print with the doors closed, and engineering materials like ASA, PC and PA get the benefit of active chamber heating to 55°C.

Material Focus
The included nitrocarburised high-flow nozzles suit PLA, PETG, ASA, ABS, PC, PA, TPU, PVA, BVOH and other non-abrasive materials up to 300°C. They are surface-hardened rather than fully hardened, so they are not recommended for regular printing with highly abrasive filaments such as glow-in-the-dark or heavily filled composites. Prusa rates them for roughly 10 kg of PETG-CF, 5 kg of PC-CF or 0.5 kg of Prusament Ultraglow before print quality is affected.
Compatibility
Prusa CORE One (original) and Prusa CORE One+. This is the CORE One/+ version of the kit, so it includes the GT 1.5 belts, matching pulleys and thermal expansion joints. Fitted to an original CORE One you end up with a CORE One+ with INDX. Fitted to a CORE One+ (Gen 2), those parts duplicate what is already on the printer.
CORE One L or L+, Original Prusa XL, MK4S, MK3.9S, MK3S+ or any other printer. The CORE One L range uses its own dedicated INDX kit.
Current CORE One firmware plus PrusaSlicer or EasyPrint for multi-material painting. Prusa Connect and the Prusa app work as before.
