55W CO2. Thick Cuts in One Pass

The R1's 55W CO2 laser cuts and engraves wood, clear and coloured acrylic, leather, fabric, paper, EVA foam and shell, and engraves glass, ceramic and coated metals. It cuts up to 20 mm acrylic in a single pass, and up to 18 mm black walnut plywood with the optional medium or long-focus lens. The standard short-focus lens has a fine 0.11 mm spot for detailed engraving.

Automatic Laser Alignment

Aligning the optical path on a CO2 laser usually means thermal paper, test shots and trial and error. On the R1 you mount the supplied Laser Alignment Sensor on the toolhead and the machine measures the beam, detects any misalignment and corrects the mirrors itself, in about a minute. Bambu Lab recommends running it on first use, after moving the machine and monthly for best results.

What You Mark Is What You Cut

The TriSense system combines a BirdsEye camera that captures the whole bed, a toolhead camera for fine detail, a pinpoint laser, a distance measurement laser and XY encoders. Drop in a crooked, curved or tiny workpiece and the R1 locates it, reads the surface height, focuses automatically and tracks every move, so each cut lands within 0.2 mm of where you placed it.

Safety Built In

Crossflow Ventilation

Most lasers rely on a single exhaust fan. The R1 brings fresh air in on one side and exhausts smoke from the other, sweeping the whole chamber to reduce the dead zones where smoke collects. A smoke ventilation fan and hose are included for venting outside, or connect the optional E1 Pro Air Purifier straight to the exhaust outlet for multi-layer filtration with activated carbon.
