The Core Innovation: Dual-Nozzle System

The X2D pairs a main nozzle with an auxiliary nozzle, switched by a purely mechanical gear-and-trigger mechanism with no extra motor on the toolhead. The head stays light for lower inertia and vibration at speed, and the switching action is verified for over 1,000,000 cycles. The main nozzle prints your model while the auxiliary nozzle prints supports in a different material, so contact surfaces come out cleaner, post-processing is minimal, and multi-colour changes waste far less filament than single-nozzle swapping. It also enables TPU + PLA multi-material parts that combine rigidity and flexibility in a single job.

Cool Mode draws in fresh air for crisp PLA overhangs and bridges with the door closed, while Heat Mode seals and actively heats the chamber to 65°C for engineering filaments. Whichever mode you run, three-stage air filtration (G3 pre-filter, H12 HEPA and coconut-shell activated carbon, the same solution as the H Series) reduces VOCs and particulates for cleaner indoor printing.

AMS 2 Pro Included

The Combo ships with AMS 2 Pro, Bambu Lab’s most reliable multi-colour system yet. A pioneering active-venting design dries filament up to 30% faster than sealed heating and keeps humidity low for better storage and print quality, while the PMSM feeding motor speeds filament swaps by 60%, saving roughly 10 minutes per 100 colour changes.

Material Focus

Built for the full range: PLA, PETG and TPU for everyday parts, through ABS, ASA, PA, PC and PET for engineering work, up to abrasive carbon and glass-fibre reinforced filaments running on the hardened steel nozzle and extruder gears. The heated chamber and dedicated support printing make it a genuine engineering workhorse, not just a colour machine.
