Professional SLA, now for everyone

Form Studio 1 brings the Formlabs SLA experience to an entry-level price. It runs the same Low Force Display (LFD) print engine architecture as the Form 4, updated for this printer, so you get the speed, reliability and surface quality Formlabs is known for without the professional-tier price tag. A 35 µm pixel with anti-aliasing and resins tuned to the light engine deliver sharp edges and smooth surfaces straight off the build platform.

It is built for form-and-fit prototyping, figurines, miniatures, models and props. If you need functional prototypes, rapid tooling or end-use parts in engineering materials, the Form 4 remains the right choice, and the two sit side by side in the Formlabs range.

Key Specifications

Alpha Resins and compatible materials

Form Studio 1 launches with Alpha Resins, a new material family built specifically for it: Alpha Grey, White, Black, Clear, Fast and Model. They use only low-odour chemistry, with no ingredients known to have long-term effects on organ or reproductive health and none that are acutely toxic or skin irritants. Printed parts meet ISO 10993 requirements for long-term skin contact when post-processed to Formlabs guidelines.

• Standard Resin Tank (included): all Alpha Resins, Flexible 80A Resin V2 and True Cast Resin
• Resin Tank Pro (sold separately): Tough 1500 Resin V2 and any third-party 405 nm resin in Open Material Mode
• Not compatible: biocompatible dental resins and other Formlabs engineering resins
• Alpha Resins run only on Form Studio 1 and are not compatible with the Form 4, 4B, 4L or 4BL
