Seamless Integration

The enclosure connects straight to the XL's mainboard, so everything is run from the printer's LCD touch panel. Set the filtration performance and how long it keeps filtering after a print finishes (handy after ASA or PCCF jobs), switch the LED strips, and check the remaining life of the HEPA filter, all from the printer's menu.

Print Advanced Materials with Ease

The enclosure keeps a stable, warmer environment around the print and shields it from drafts, which cuts warping on materials like PCCF, nylon, PP and ASA. The Advanced Filtration System draws air in from below and pushes it out through a HEPA filter (99.9% efficiency), reducing odours and stopping ultra-fine particles from spreading into the room. The XL runs filtration automatically for the materials that need it and leaves it off for PLA and PETG to extend filter life, though you can switch it on manually at any time. The printer also tracks filter use and tells you when a replacement is due.

Core Features

  • Stable, draft-free printing environment for warp-prone, high-temperature materials
  • Advanced Filtration System with a HEPA filter, controlled automatically by the XL
  • Post-print filtration timer to clear particles after ASA, PCCF and similar jobs
  • Filtration, LED strips and HEPA filter life managed from the printer's touch panel
  • Extra LED strip lights the print area and shows printer status
  • Magnetic bellows cover folds away for full access and cooler PLA printing
  • Metal frame with mounting points for cameras, electronics and add-ons, plus tidy cable management
  • Lowers printer noise and covers every moving part
  • Reduces dust build-up on the motion system, so less maintenance
  • Everything is in the box, including heat-resistant PCCF printer parts, nothing to print yourself

Folding Bellows Cover

Some materials, PLA in particular, print better without the extra heat. The magnetic bellows cover folds down in seconds to open up airflow, so you can print any material without limits. Unlike hinged doors, it takes up no extra room beside or in front of the printer and gives you much better access to the whole print area.

Compatibility

Designed for the Original Prusa XL in single-tool and multi-tool configurations. Installing it involves swapping a few printer parts, such as some Nextruder parts and the belt holder, for the heat-resistant PCCF versions supplied in the box. The newer Prusa XL+ uses its own Enclosure for Prusa XL+, so check which printer you have before ordering.

What's in the Box

All components to build the enclosure (frame parts, transparent side panels, top and bottom panels, bellows cover set, mounting hardware and printer frame brace), PCCF replacement parts for the XL, temperature sensor, LED strip and documentation. The 3D printer is not included.

Tools needed for assembly (not included): T10 Torx driver, 1.5 mm and 2.5 mm Allen keys, needle-nose pliers and a universal wrench.
